Intuitive Art, Abstracts of Light & Shadows, current & past paint projects

Outdoors painting on the Alberta Legislature grounds, November 13, 2021
2016, Tom's Autumn, inspired by Tom Thomson's Autumn

5 years ago today, November 13, 2016, I was adding more colour to Tom's Autumn on a cool afternoon on the Alberta Legislature grounds. The NDP Alberta Government attempted to ban me from painting & showing my artwork on the Legislature grounds 3 times that year and failed. This year the Alberta Government lifted the ban on my t-shirts, worn inside the Alberta Legislature with the art I create.

2021-11-13. My wife Sarah and I were guests at Edmonton's downtown Sorrentino's Cucina & Bar Friday night, our first-time experience as patrons of this famous Italian restaurant. There we met Michael Sayde who hosted the evening with the fine dining experience, warm atmosphere of this old establishment, and we shared and exchanged stories with our host. He asked if I could paint something of Lebanon, and he shared his concerns about the land that he loves so well. I thought, maybe I should consider Michael's request, not as a commission, not as a sale, because I don't sell my paintings, but as a gesture of love and appreciation from my wife and me from the romantic evening we enjoyed in his restaurant. I could see in Michael's eyes that his love for Lebanon is very deep, and he would appreciate a painting I'm sure. The beautiful cedars of Lebanon inspire the world, this may be the idea, starting point for a painting...

'If it quacks like a magpie, it must be a magpie' My 2021. Misty HeART project on the topic of humanity and legacy is completed and on show on my main website http://ciactivist.org. I'm already into my new art project for 2022, called the Intuitive art project, Abstracts of Light & Shadows, which looks back and continues forward freely expressing myself with creativity. The game board 'The bear always knows' was created at the start of the Misty HeART project back in March 2021.

Paintings are not for sale

After the art shows, paintings are retired, given away, or painted over for future art projects.
Special requests to acquire paintings are considered, which would involve donations to charities.
